Rumour has it the Wii can run all the overpriced Mario games without needing the original discs, but I have no idea how to do it and asking here would be related to piracy talk. You either hope for a sale or you pay what everyone else does. Think buying a Switch will be better? Ha, look at the prices for games like Mario Kart 8 new and used, and that game has been out for years. Better buy it then because the price will shoot up second-hand, that's just the market for certain games. Yes those Mario games went on sale when the new one came out, and sometimes you will get them on clearance.

If it is some random game (Spiderman 3 based on the movie for example) then you still might get it for cheap. More specifically than out of print games, all Nintendo games from all systems hold their value if they are first-party character like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. I am not sure if it is worth to buy them at the moment or should I just ditch Wii and buy Switch instead? The Wii console itself without games seems to be nearly worthless now. Many of the games are over a decade old now, some are over 15 years, and how the hell they are selling used ones so expensive, I remember back in the day when Super Mario Galaxy II out, some of the Galaxy 1 game is discounted to $25, now after a decade later, people are selling used ones for $50? People are selling them at least $40 per game, many over $50, and many at poor condition, with scratches everywhere. Then when I looked over Kijiji, ebay, amazon and everywhere, So I am looking to buy some classic Mario Wii games for my son, like Mario Kart, Super Mario bro, Super Mario galaxy i and ii, Wii party etc. I'v only had Wii sport, Wii sport resort and Wii fit games bought with my Wii console and only borrow some disk from library for other games. You will get bombarded with Blue and Red Shells and it becomes more of a chore as you have to play as cheaply as possible to outwit the AI.My 4 year old son is watch lots of Mario games play video on youtube nowadays, so I am thinking of bring back my more than decade old Wii console back to life for some family Fun. In the higher CC modes in Mario Kart GP, the worst thing you can do is be in first place at the end of the first lap. Well, I would say that Mario Kart Wii is the worst when it comes to the AI getting an unfair advantage. How it will punish you for doing well and how cheap the AI can sometimes be. Mario Kart is known for its rubber banding AI. Unlocking some of these characters was really tough! I remember having a tough time getting Funky Kong and baby Luigi specifically. This was the first game where people complained about the number of baby characters, but they do have some charm. Mario Kart Wii has a really stacked roster and it featured a lot of cool characters. It was great how Nintendo gave you the choice of how you want to play the game. I found these much better than the motion ones, but at the end of the day, it was all about personal preference. Mario Kart Wii actually let you also use standard controls as well.
If you did not have the Wii Wheel you could still use the Wii Remote like one and make use of motion controls. You just popped your Wii Remote in there and off you went. This worked really well and for some people, this was the only way to play Mario Kart Wii. The game when it was first released actually came with the Wii Wheel. These actually controlled quite different from the karts so depending on your playstyle you could find them easier or harder to handle.
